OnePay introduced stablecoin deposits for selected US checking customers on October 30, allowing them to fund accounts with
USDC market price and chart sent from external cryptocurrency wallets. The funds are converted into US dollars and credited to their OnePay Checking balances, the company said.
In its official product announcement, OnePay described the feature as a way to bridge blockchain-based payments with everyday dollar accounts. The initial rollout supports USDC across 12 blockchains, including
Ethereum market price and chart,
Solana market price and chart, Base and Tempo.
How the stablecoin deposit feature works
Eligible customers can select “Deposit stablecoins” within the Cash Control section of the OnePay app. The feature generates a deposit address to which users can send supported stablecoins from an external wallet. OnePay says the deposit is automatically converted into dollars and added to the customer’s checking balance, usually within moments.
OnePay stated that it would not charge conversion fees at launch, subject to the conditions in its announcement. That does not necessarily mean the entire transaction is cost-free: blockchain transfers can incur network fees charged before the stablecoin reaches the deposit address.
The company said it was beginning with USDC and may assess other stablecoins later. The limited rollout means the feature should not be described as available to all OnePay customers nationwide.
Stripe infrastructure connects stablecoins and checking
OnePay attributed the conversion and deposit infrastructure to Stripe. The arrangement illustrates a payments model in which a customer transfers value on a blockchain but receives a conventional dollar balance instead of maintaining a stablecoin balance inside the checking account.
For users, the practical difference matters: the deposit process depends on the exact token and supported blockchain. Sending an unsupported asset or choosing the wrong network can create operational problems and may result in unrecoverable funds. Customers should confirm the app-generated instructions before initiating a transfer.
Why the expansion matters
Stablecoins have increasingly been used for international transfers, onchain liquidity and payments between digital-asset platforms. The OnePay launch tests whether those same rails can serve as an account-funding option for customers who ultimately want to spend or hold dollars rather than tokens.
The rollout also highlights the distinction between using stablecoins as transfer infrastructure and using them as a banking product. OnePay’s announcement describes a conversion into USD checking balances, not an investment service promising returns on deposited USDC.

The company has not provided, in the source reviewed here, a transaction volume forecast or timetable for opening the product to every customer. Those figures should not be inferred from the announcement.
