This policy explains what information BlockBriefing.net may process when you visit the website or contact the newsroom. The website uses hosting services, Google Search Console and Google Analytics to operate the site and understand how readers find and use its content.
Data collected when you browse
When you visit a website, the hosting provider and website infrastructure may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site. Depending on the hosting configuration, this may include an IP address, browser or device details, requested pages, timestamps and security or error logs. We have not independently verified the host’s exact log fields or retention periods, so we do not specify them here.
Google Search Console
BlockBriefing uses Google Search Console to monitor how the website appears in Google Search, review search performance information and identify indexing or technical search issues. Search Console provides website-level search reporting to verified site owners; it is not being used by BlockBriefing as an on-site visitor analytics tool. For information about Google’s handling of data in its services, review Google’s own privacy documentation.
Cookies and similar technologies
WordPress, the hosting environment or enabled website features may use essential cookies or similar technologies for functions such as security, session handling or preferences. Essential website functions and analytics tools may use cookies or related browser technologies. You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Google Analytics may collect usage information subject to applicable privacy and consent requirements.
Market data and local watchlist storage
The homepage may request cryptocurrency market information from Binance or CoinGecko. When a visitor presses a refresh or chart button on our Market Data page, the browser sends a direct request to CoinGecko’s public API; as with other third-party requests, the provider may receive the IP address, browser data and request timestamp subject to its own policies. These data are indicative and may be unavailable.
The personal news watchlist saves selected topic names in your browser’s local storage on that device; it does not create an account or transmit those saved preferences to BlockBriefing. When you request watchlist news, your browser also fetches public articles from this site’s WordPress API. You can clear your list using the watchlist controls or browser settings.
Messages sent to the newsroom
If you contact the newsroom by email, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message and any attachments. We use it to review and respond to your enquiry, consider news tips or correction requests, and maintain appropriate editorial or business records. Please do not send passwords, private keys, seed phrases, account credentials or other sensitive financial information.
Analytics and external services
BlockBriefing uses Google Analytics to understand overall website usage. Depending on your browser settings and applicable consent controls, analytics may process page visits, technical identifiers, and related activity. Google’s Privacy Policy explains how it handles information in its services. Our pages may also load data directly from third-party market information services identified where those tools appear.
How information is used and shared
Information may be processed as reasonably necessary to provide the website, maintain security, respond to messages, troubleshoot errors and meet applicable legal obligations. Hosting or technical service providers may process information to operate the site. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect the website, its users or legal rights. We do not claim that no third party ever processes technical data.
Retention and security
Information should be retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, site security, editorial records, dispute resolution or legal obligations. Exact retention periods depend on the hosting environment and the records involved and have not been independently verified for this policy. Reasonable technical and organisational measures should be used to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your privacy choices
You can limit or remove cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect some site functions. Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may be able to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, or raise an objection to certain processing. To make a privacy-related request, contact the newsroom using the email address shown on our Contact page. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Children’s privacy
BlockBriefing is a general news website and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent is required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact the newsroom so the matter can be reviewed.
Third-party websites
Articles may link to third-party websites or services. Those websites operate under their own privacy practices, and this policy does not describe how they handle information. Review their policies before providing them with personal information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the website’s features, providers or information-handling practices change. The date at the top indicates when this page was last updated.
