Canadian-listed Litecoin miner Luxxfolio Holdings has entered an exploratory agreement with Greywick Digital to examine ways of using a proposed tokenized Litecoin product for institutional liquidity and financing on the Canton Network. Luxxfolio announced the arrangement on October 29, 2026, saying its non-binding letter of intent with Greywick was dated October 27.

The companies are studying a reserve-backed token called cLTC that Greywick is developing. No live issuance, completed financing arrangement or guaranteed yield has been announced.

What would cLTC represent?

In the original company announcement, Greywick described cLTC as a tokenized representation of Litecoin designed to be backed one-to-one by LTC held in a reserve arrangement. It is intended for Canton, a blockchain ecosystem focused on financial applications with controlled data sharing.

Under the proposal, Luxxfolio could lock a portion of the LTC produced through its mining business into the reserve and receive the corresponding quantity of cLTC. It would then explore possible uses in institutional trading, collateralized lending and other treasury workflows while retaining an economic exposure to Litecoin.

The proposed structure involves more than minting a token. Reserve custody, publication of reserve addresses, independent attestation, redemption rights and operational controls would need to be defined and implemented before users could assess its reliability.

The letter of intent is not a launch agreement

The October 27 letter of intent is non-binding except for its confidentiality terms. Both companies must reach a further signed commercial agreement before proceeding with the contemplated activity, and each will cover its own exploratory costs.

Greywick has identified Luxxfolio as the inaugural ecosystem partner for its planned cLTC product. The company has also cited support from the Litecoin Foundation for the initiative. These statements do not prove that cLTC is already circulating or that institutional demand has materialized.

Greywick is targeting a mainnet launch in late 2026, but the timing remains dependent on technical work and documentation. The announcement does not provide independently verified live transaction volumes, a working token contract or confirmed launch participants beyond the exploratory relationship.

Why tokenized treasury assets carry added risks

For a mining company that wishes to retain its LTC holdings, a tokenized representation could theoretically let assets participate in a broader set of institutional transactions without an outright sale of spot Litecoin.

But a reserve-backed token is not risk-free simply because it has a one-to-one design. Holders may face custody problems, counterparty default, redemption restrictions, insufficient secondary-market liquidity, technological failures or losses arising from loans and collateral liquidations.

The announcement itself warns that a one-to-one reserve design does not guarantee the token’s market price or redemption on demand. Any claimed financing or yield benefit should therefore remain a scenario rather than a realized result until contracts and independently verifiable performance data exist.

What investors and institutions should watch next

Material next developments would include a binding agreement, published custodial and reserve arrangements, an attestation methodology, issuance and redemption rules, a live Canton deployment and verifiable use by financial counterparties.

Luxxfolio operates a Litecoin-oriented mining and treasury business, while Greywick is positioning its platform around asset tokenization. The relationship adds to broader institutional interest in blockchain-based securities and assets, separately illustrated by DTCC’s tokenization initiative involving Canton.
