Binance has updated the wallet address list connected to its Proof of Reserves (PoR) disclosures and says it will process withdrawals through newly generated addresses as part of its security response. The change was announced on November 1 through the exchange’s verified Chinese-language Binance account.
In its statement, Binance said the new addresses had been added to its PoR address list and that all withdrawal transactions would be processed through the new wallets effective immediately. The announcement followed the platform’s phased reopening of withdrawals after a major security breach.
Why the withdrawal addresses matter
Exchange withdrawal wallets are part of the operational infrastructure that sends cryptocurrency to customers. Replacing them after a security incident can be a precaution intended to separate current operations from potentially exposed systems, though Binance did not publicly provide technical details establishing precisely which previous wallet keys or controls were affected.
The updated PoR list is relevant because customers and analysts can use disclosed blockchain addresses to inspect certain onchain balances and movements. That transparency is useful, but it cannot independently establish every exchange liability or confirm that all internal security controls are effective.
What Binance has confirmed
Binance’s official statement supports two specific developments: it added newly generated addresses to the published reserve-address list, and it said withdrawals would now be processed through those addresses. The post does not give a complete list of changed wallets in its short announcement or publish a technical root-cause analysis.
Binance had separately stated in its November 1 recovery bulletin that withdrawals would reopen in phases after network-specific safety checks. The exchange said it had replenished approximately 95% of impacted assets and would bear the financial losses rather than pass them to users.
How customers can verify changes
Users can review the official Binance Proof of Reserves page for the current disclosures and validate any planned transaction through their authenticated exchange account. They should not assume that an address circulated on social media belongs to Binance without checking official records.
The wallet update is distinct from the withdrawal-reopening timetable, which BlockBriefing previously covered. Readers can also consult the site’s earlier security investigation for background.
