Ripple and working-capital platform C2FO announced plans on October 27 to settle financing activity tied to C2FO Instant Pay on the XRP Ledger using Ripple USD (RLUSD). The initiative aims to shorten the delay between approval of an early invoice payment and receipt of the funds.
The announcement was made during Ripple Swell 2026 in New York. According to the companies’ primary release, participating capital providers would fund eligible early payments, with settlement taking place on XRPL in RLUSD.
Why invoice settlement matters
Suppliers commonly agree to payment terms that extend for several weeks. Early-payment programs can release funds sooner, but bank settlement can still introduce delays after a payment is approved.
C2FO says the proposed Instant Pay arrangement would use the XRP Ledger to move funds to suppliers in seconds rather than days. Existing invoice terms and due dates would stay intact, while businesses would continue to access early payments through C2FO.
The design separates financing from settlement: approved invoices and participating capital providers determine the funding, while the stablecoin and ledger are intended to move the payment. The distinction matters because blockchain settlement does not itself guarantee financing eligibility.
Commercial rollout details remain open
The firms described a planned deployment rather than announcing that all C2FO customers can already receive RLUSD payments. They did not publish a universal launch date, participation requirements or an initial settlement volume.
Ripple and C2FO said the work forms part of the growing use of blockchain infrastructure in business payments. Separately, BlockBriefing has covered Ripple’s RLUSD treasury services, highlighting how the company is expanding stablecoin use beyond exchanges.
Adoption will depend on the availability of capital providers, regulatory requirements and customers’ ability to receive or convert RLUSD. Those questions remain unresolved by the October 27 announcement.
