U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $526.6 million in net inflows on October 19, according to SoSoValue data. The provider said it was the strongest daily inflow since September 22 and narrowed the funds’ net outflows for October.

Why one fund drove the inflows

SoSoValue attributed the net inflow to BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), while other U.S. spot Bitcoin funds recorded no net inflows for the session. The result was concentrated in one product rather than spread across all issuers.

What ETF flows can and cannot tell investors

Spot Bitcoin ETFs hold Bitcoin and issue shares traded on traditional exchanges. Their daily net flows generally reflect creations and redemptions of fund shares and provide one measure of demand for these products. They do not capture every Bitcoin transaction or establish why investors moved money into or out of a fund.

An inflow may reflect portfolio allocation, hedging, arbitrage or other activity. The figure alone does not show whether investors intend to hold exposure for the long term, and it cannot predict Bitcoin’s price. This is a one-day snapshot, not a live reading; subsequent sessions determine whether the trend continued or reversed.

Data providers may use different reporting conventions and revise figures as records are reconciled. Comparisons are most useful when they use the same source and methodology.
