Blockchain infrastructure provider Instanodes has introduced engineering services for post-quantum account security on Ethereum market price and chart-compatible networks and Solana market price and chart, targeting businesses concerned about the long-term resilience of digital-asset authorization systems.

The company said in its November 3 announcement that the offering includes hash-based signing systems, quantum-readiness assessments and custom cryptographic development.

The new service is intended to help organizations explore alternative account-level authorization designs. It does not mean Ethereum or Solana has switched its underlying network cryptography to a post-quantum standard.

Hash-Based Signatures Target Account-Level Risks

Many blockchain wallets rely on digital signatures based on elliptic-curve cryptography. These schemes are widely used today, but sufficiently capable future quantum computers could threaten some of their underlying mathematical assumptions.

Hash-based signature approaches rely on different mathematical foundations and are among the families being explored for systems seeking quantum-resistant authentication.

Instanodes says it can implement such verification logic in programmable account systems. The company has not claimed that a quantum computer has successfully broken Ethereum or Solana’s current transaction signatures.

Quantum-readiness planning therefore concerns future migration risk rather than an immediate confirmed compromise of existing wallets.

Ethereum Smart Accounts Allow Custom Validation

On Ethereum-compatible chains, the company points to ERC-4337 account abstraction as one possible route for integrating alternative signature checks.

A smart account can include application-specific authorization conditions, enabling developers to verify signatures through logic that differs from a conventional externally owned account.

However, smart accounts still operate inside the broader blockchain environment and may depend on standard infrastructure for network transactions, deployment or other interactions.

A customized authorization module can provide an additional layer of security for selected operations without replacing all other cryptographic dependencies.

Developers must also consider the costs of on-chain verification, key recovery, software maintenance and compatibility with existing custody processes.

Solana Requires Different Program-Level Controls

On Solana, Instanodes says comparable designs require custom program-level signature verification and asset-control mechanisms. Native Solana transaction authorization continues to rely on Ed25519 signatures.

That distinction prevents the launch from being interpreted as a wholesale quantum-resistant upgrade for Solana. The account or program may validate an additional type of credential while the network continues operating with existing protocol-level rules.

Any deployment would require careful analysis of which actions the new authorization scheme protects and which remain dependent on other security mechanisms.

Institutions Assess Migration and Audit Requirements

Instanodes also offers assessments of cryptographic dependencies, migration plans and development assistance for exchanges, custodians and blockchain protocols.

Before using a new signing mechanism to control customer assets, businesses would need to examine cryptographic reviews, implementation audits, key-management procedures and emergency recovery methods.

The announcement provides a description of the offering, not a public independent audit proving all implementations secure. It also does not establish production deployment across named client institutions.

Post-Quantum Security Remains a Gradual Transition

BlockBriefing’s guide to crypto token approvals explains another important part of wallet security: permissions granted to applications. Signature design is only one component in a larger risk model involving contract code and operational practices.

Instanodes’ launch reflects growing interest in preparing blockchain infrastructure for long-term cryptographic changes. The key question for future reporting is whether the proposed account designs receive independent scrutiny and demonstrate practical deployment without undermining security or usability.
