Ripple and Robinhood announced a partnership on October 27 that will bring Ripple USD (RLUSD) deeper into Robinhood’s digital asset operations, including institutional settlement and treasury management. The agreement gives the trading platform access to several parts of Ripple’s financial infrastructure rather than a standalone stablecoin integration.
According to Ripple’s original announcement, RLUSD is already supported on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood. Robinhood also plans to make the stablecoin available in its consumer application later in 2026. The consumer rollout remains planned, not a completed launch.
Institutional settlement expands through XRPL
Robinhood plans to use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement as Bitstamp expands its institutional business. The companies also intend to use Ripple Treasury to manage corporate cash, liquidity, forecasts, payments and intercompany transactions.
The agreement builds on existing ties between Ripple Prime and Bitstamp by Robinhood. Ripple said Prime already provides lending and margin financing linked to about 20 digital assets and offers clients access to Bitstamp spot trading. Support for perpetual futures on Bitstamp through Ripple Prime is planned for later this year.
What the partnership does and does not mean
The announcement connects stablecoin payments, trading infrastructure and corporate treasury workflows within one commercial relationship. It does not establish that RLUSD is currently accessible to all Robinhood retail customers, or that the planned products are available in every market.
Ripple is also expanding its regulatory and custody footprint. BlockBriefing previously reported on Ripple’s reported final approval for a national trust bank and its RLUSD-focused treasury offering. The newly announced Robinhood integration is a separate commercial development.
Neither company disclosed a transaction value or an exact launch date for RLUSD in the Robinhood consumer app. Those remain important details to monitor as the partnership develops.
