Webull intends to offer crypto-linked perpetual futures to eligible U.S. customers through a partnership with Kalshi, Reuters reported October 20. A November launch is planned, but customers should check company announcements for contract details, eligibility and actual availability.
How perpetual crypto futures differ
Perpetual futures are derivatives without a conventional expiry date. They provide price exposure rather than direct ownership of the underlying cryptocurrency and may involve funding payments, margin requirements and liquidation rules.
Leverage can magnify losses as well as gains. A position may be liquidated if its margin falls below required levels, and funding payments can add to holding costs. Regulatory oversight does not remove those risks.
What traders need to confirm before launch
In its October 20 launch statement, Webull said eligible U.S. customers would be able to access contracts beginning with Bitcoin and selected other crypto assets. November is a planned rollout period; the announcement does not confirm that every customer account will be eligible on day one.
Perpetual futures typically use funding payments to keep prices near their reference markets, and traders may face changing margin requirements. Those terms can affect the cost of keeping a position open. Readers should check the actual contract specifications, supported assets and account eligibility once the service starts, rather than assuming the same conditions as an offshore derivatives exchange.
The reported November date is a planned launch, not confirmation that the contracts are already available to all users. Customers should review final specifications, fees, funding calculations, margin and liquidation rules, and eligibility restrictions. The launch is separate from the SEC’s proposed digital-asset rulemaking.
