Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget reported $1.86 trillion in combined trading volume for the third quarter of 2026, highlighting growing activity across cryptocurrency markets and traditional-asset-linked products.
The figures come from Bitget’s November 3 transparency report announcement. They are company-reported totals spanning multiple trading categories, not independently audited revenue or proof of exchange profitability.
Bitget also disclosed new collateral arrangements for tokenized US stocks and further security measures following a September incident.
Quarterly Trading Volume Reaches $1.86 Trillion
Bitget said combined monthly volume increased 21.2% from July to September. Within its reported activity, crypto derivatives volume rose 31.5% to $409.19 billion while cryptocurrency spot trading volume increased 65.7%.
The platform also reported $376.32 billion in contract-for-difference trading during the quarter, with activity in that category rising 39.7%. The figures underscore how the exchange is expanding beyond conventional spot cryptocurrency trading.
Trading volume counts transactions processed on the platform. It should not be interpreted as revenue earned by Bitget, money held by customers or assets under management.
The reporting period ended September 30. The release did not provide enough comparable audited financial detail to conclude that the higher transaction totals produced a proportionate increase in profit.
Tokenized Stocks Join Unified Collateral System
Bitget said its Cross-Asset Unified Account now supports more than 370 eligible collateral assets, including over 100 tokenized US equities. The exchange stated that some eligible tokenized stocks receive collateral valuation ratios of up to 95%.
The feature allows users to manage collateral across supported trading products, but valuation ratios vary and collateral may be discounted or liquidated as market conditions change.
Tokenized equity exposure also raises questions about ownership rights, the issuer, redemption provisions and jurisdictional restrictions. Traders should review each product’s terms rather than assuming a token confers identical rights to a brokerage-held share.
Bitget said it expanded AI-assisted trading tools to cover tokenized equities and introduced other products including a stablecoin yield offering.
Exchange Details Security Measures After September Incident
The transparency report addresses a September 24 security event. Bitget said account balances remained unaffected and that Mandiant and SlowMist were engaged to assist with investigation and security assessments.
It also reported replenishing its Protection Fund to more than $300 million by September 30 and maintaining a proof-of-reserves ratio above 110%.
Those are exchange disclosures. The public announcement does not itself establish the complete scope of the incident or independently verify every asset and liability in the platform’s balance sheet.
The exchange said it added circuit-breaker controls and increased its security budget. Whether those measures prevent future incidents cannot be demonstrated by a single reporting period.
Competition Expands Between Crypto and Traditional Assets
Bitget’s figures arrive as exchanges add stock-linked instruments and institutional trading services. BlockBriefing recently covered KuCoin’s five tokenized US stock listings and Crypto.com’s US perpetual-futures offering.
Those stories illustrate different products and regulatory frameworks, not directly comparable trading volumes.
Bitget’s quarterly report points to a broader cross-asset strategy, but future disclosures will be needed to assess sustained trading activity, user risk and the performance of its new collateral model.
